Despite the city of Hamburg being the second most populous city and metro area in Germany, it is nowhere near as busy as Munich and Frankfurt. Also Terminal 1 is much wider than 2. The main hall and office blocks to the left and right of the hall. Also the elevator arrangement is quite much like this. Terminal 1 in Hamburg airport has been built in 2003-2004. However, the cylindric elevator isn't there, instead there are two big elevators below the right office wing A. The design - apart from a few differences - is quite much like in Terminal 2.
